A few days before moving to Tahiti I shared about what we were about to do at YWAM Kona's community meeting. After the meeting I ran into a young woman who said she was so blessed and encouraged to see a young family "go for it" and move to a new nation. She then proceeded to give me a wonderful word of the Lord...
She said she got the picture of me & my family with a big key ring walking through jungles and forests. God would lead us to a little safe hidden somewhere and one of the keys on the ring would open the safe. The safe was full of money and jewels - all the provision we needed for that time. Then God would lead us on to another hidden safe and another key on our ring would be the right one to open the next safe. She said she felt God had given us keys to open up provision for us in each season.
Before we moved, friends of ours started supporting us very generously. They communicated a while back that they would have to stop our support for an unknown amount of time. God was leading them into ministry/missions as well. It was honestly very exciting for us to hear of their next step into missions. Although that left us in a bit of a bind. I explain that here.
We have been praying for new supporters and an increase in support, but I feel God has said that is not the next "key" to open the next safe. He spoke that faith is the next key on our key ring. This month has been quite exciting or scary (depending on our attitude). Previously we have been getting support each month that would pay all our bills for the upcoming 31 days. This month however we have not had money for basics like groceries or diapers. God has been providing but it has been week by week. He is leading us into a deeper level of trusting Him.
I realize that thousands of people trust God day by day all the time. That is incredible! Having to trust God for just a week at a time this month has been scary enough. However God has said that He wants to give us more authority in the area of faith in finances and this is how that is done. We believe this authority is needed as we get ready to run a DTS next year where the needs will be much, much bigger. We will have to trust God for our needs as well as lead the students to trust God for theirs.
I believe God will increase our support sometime in the future. But for now - faith is the key!
